EAPCA Affirms its Core Beliefs, Mission and Affiliations

August 19, 2012

Recently, several Christian publications have reported about the Olivet University and its founder Dr. David Jang.  EAPCA was noted in the reports.

The Evangelical Assembly of Presbyterian Churches in America (EAPCA) was founded in 2004. It administers EAPCA churches found in 50 states in America and worldwide, reaching the unreached with the Good News of Jesus Christ, and thus transforming communities around the world. To this end, the EAPCA consists of 7 regional presbyteries and 73 local churches, which coordinate local missions, and over 100 foreign missions and congregations started by EAPCA missionaries worldwide.

The EAPCA adheres to the Westminster Confession of Faith, which is the basic confession of Presbyterian faith.  Also, as a denominational member of National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) and World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), the EAPCA fully affirms and subscribes to their statements of faith.

"The EAPCA is committed to the global evangelical movement, emphasizes the authority of the Bible and Jesus' teachings as God's only Son," said Dr. Tom Cowley, Moderator of EAPCA.

EAPCA's leadership consists of six departments - the General Assembly Office, Department of Mission and Church Planting, Department of Communications, Department of Finance, Department of Member Care, and Council of Education and Spiritual Development, serving various needs of EAPCA presbyteries and local churches.

EAPCA provides extensive educational resources in biblical, pastoral, and missiological areas to its ministers.

EAPCA is affiliated with Olivet Theological College & Seminary (OTCS) to train and equip ministers with a deeper theological understanding and guidelines for ministry practices through its Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degree programs.

Students who attended OTCS or other accredited theological seminaries with a Master of Divinity or higher degree are qualified to apply for a pastoral position at EAPCA local churches.  EAPCA also encourages its current ministers to earn higher seminary degrees for their own theological training and spiritual development.
