Family Ministry at Grace Community Church in Phoenix

August 1, 2012

Phoenix, AZ - The Grace Community Church's educational programs for families including seniors, couples, and teenagers provide great strength to the church's family members.  The family ministry at GCC in Phoenix strives to serve the needs for the church family members in three areas:

- Nurture family members spiritually through seminars and programs
- Counsel couples in their courtships
- Help raise children in God-honoring ways

"Divorce, marriage, day-care, young adults and child education... it is not only a financial challenge, but a spiritual challenge that is relevant to our Christian faith," shared the minister of Grace Community Church.  "Together as one church body, it is of God's blessing how our family ministry can serve in these realms.  It is a richly learning community, providing timely helps meeting church members' immediate needs."

The Grace Community Church's membership record shows that in the recent years, the number of newly registered members as families has been steadily increasing.  The Bible speaks the importance of family as the house of God, how God created man and woman in His image, and to be joined as one flesh.  Quoting from Martin Luther, “Abraham had in his tent a house of God and a church, just as today any godly and pious head of a household instructs his children in…godliness."

"Ministering families and [ministering] youth groups are quite different," said the GCC's Family Ministry coordinator. "The most important of all, the Bible and Gospel is at the center of our ministry."
